On August 1st, the world's first water-based polyurethane surgical gloves were successfully put into trial use, marking the completion of another innovative technological effect in industrialization.


At present, the global surgical glove market is tight and in short supply, with an annual expenditure of approximately 75 billion to 80 billion pairs of latex gloves. The demand for surgical gloves in China is about 11 billion pairs, indicating a significant market gap. Moreover, currently the medical sterilization surgical gloves in the market are made of natural latex. The defects of latex gloves are: relatively thick, not sensitive enough for internal medicine practitioners to operate, prone to allergic reactions, and unable to effectively block viruses.


The Center for Water based Polyurethane Technology is the leader in China's water-based polymer ultra-thin film technology, with a world leading level of scientific research and technology. After two years, it finally successfully developed the world's first water-based polyurethane internal medicine glove. Due to its lack of history, the research and development process was very difficult, and the glove consumption line was independently developed. Recently, the successful trial consumption also marks the industrialization of consumer technology and product functions.


Unlike traditional latex gloves, KeTian water-based polyurethane internal medicine gloves are revolutionary in both technology and experience. They are as thin as 0.1 millimeters, with a realistic touch and sensitive response, which can effectively reduce the probability of instrument use errors. Although they are only half as thin as latex gloves, their puncture resistance is twice as high, and the professional test result reaches 5.8N. This is due to the strong flexibility and high density of water-based polyurethane gloves. "Dai Jiabing said that water-based polyurethane material has high biological safety, no odor, and even if latex protein allergy sufferers wear it strangely, they will not be allergic. It can naturally fit the human body, be soft and skin friendly, easy for medical personnel to wear, and not easily slip off.


As a nano particle level polymer material, waterborne polyurethane forms a thin film after drying. However, due to the material characteristics of waterborne polyurethane, although the thickness is thin, the strength will decrease when the modulus is reduced.



The successful research and development of water-based polyurethane internal medicine gloves not only completes the "from scratch" of water-based polyurethane internal medicine gloves, but also marks another acceleration of China's technological innovation "deceleration". For the traditional internal medicine glove industry, this also means that there will be a technological reaction. Technological innovation promotes product innovation, and the consumption of water-based polyurethane surgical gloves will further promote the development of the industry and the improvement of technology.
