Wearing and removing medical gloves
In modern life, the use of disposable gloves has become increasingly common. Not only in medical institutions, but also in many other institutions or units, such as food processing, beauty and hairdressing, electronics factories, etc., disposable gloves are needed in various industries. Disposable gloves play a crucial role in safety management, helping to reduce the risk of cross infection between doctors and patients, and avoiding injuries caused by worker object contact. Compared to other gloves, disposable gloves not only provide safety protection, but also are more hygienic.
When wearing disposable gloves every day, medical staff usually pay attention to the following points:
Firstly, choose gloves that fit your hand shape. If the gloves you choose are too tight or too loose. Too loose will make it difficult to grip, and too tight will cause it to tear easily.
Before wearing gloves, please prepare disposable gloves in a clean place and make sure to remove all jewelry and wash your hands.
When wearing gloves, place the glove box on a clean workbench, grab the wrist of the glove with one hand, then place it on the other hand until the glove reaches the fingertips, and then place the other hand on top, avoiding contact with the outside of the glove throughout the process.
However, medical personnel tend to overlook the correct steps to remove disposable gloves, which invisibly reduces the protective effect of gloves. Therefore, in order to truly achieve the correct protective effect, medical personnel should follow the following correct steps to remove disposable gloves to ensure the patient and their health.
1. Hold the edge of the glove on the left wrist with your right thumb, index finger, and middle finger (do not touch the skin), and then use force to lift the glove out of the inner layer and remove it.
2. Rub the removed left glove into a ball and place it in the palm of your right hand.
3. Insert the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger of the left hand into the glove of the right hand, apply force to the outside of the body with the fingers, and flip them out from the inside.
4. Wrap the gloves of your right hand around the gloves in your palm and throw them into the trash can.
5. After taking off gloves, wash your hands immediately.
